Xavier Moreau was born in France in March 23, 1966. He obtained the Ph.D. degree in Automatics from the Faculty of Sciences and Technologies of the University of Bordeaux, France, in 1995 and the HDR (Accreditation to supervise research) in 2003. Presently he is Professor at the Faculty of Sciences and Technologies of the University of Bordeaux 1, Department of Physics, where he is in charge the Mechanical Engineering Department. His research focuses on fractional differentiation and its application in engineering sciences in particular in vibration control, vehicle dynamics and global chassis control. He received, with Alain Oustaloup, the AFCET Trophy in 1995 for the CRONE suspension (a French acronym of « Commande Robuste d’Ordre Non Entier »).
