Born on June 1 1978. Master degree summa cum laude in Mechanical Engineering (University of Salerno-UNISA, March 2002). Ph.D. (since 2006), currently serves as associate professor of energy conversion systems at the department of industrial engineering (DIIN-UNISA). In April 2017, obtained the Italian national scientific qualifications as Full Professor in the sector 09/C1- Fluid Machinery, energy systems and power generation (2016-2018 call, I quarter). In 2016 obtained the HDR (habilitation a diriger des recherches) from the University of Franche-Comté (UFC, Belfort, France). From December 2014 until March 2015 was an invited visiting professor at the FEMTO-ST/FCLAB research center (UFC, Belfort, France). From September 2003 to November 2004 was visiting scholar at Center for Automotive Research of the Ohio State University, Columbus (OH, USA). The research activity mainly focuses on automotive propulsion systems, fuel cells and Energy Management. ASME, SAE and IEEE member, authored over 120 scientific publications and two international patents. He is Associate Editor of SAE International Journal of Alternative Powertrains and sits on the Editorial Board of the Applied Energy journal. Guest-editor of the special issue on “Clean Energy for Vehicle Application”, International Journal of Powertrains. ITC/IPC member and session chairman of IFAC and Applied Energy conferences. Associate Editor for the ECC’13, ECC’14 and 2014 and 2017 IFAC World Conferences. He is working group member of the European association HER (Hydrogen Europe Research), in the area "Transport Pillar”. Furthermore, he is member of the IFAC Technical Committee on "Automotive Control". Regularly serves as reviewer for ISI journals and international conferences organized by IFAC, SAE, ASME and IEEE. Coordinates the research project “Provisional models of central office energy consumptions and their integration into the Energreen monitoring platform” with Telecom Italia. Coordinates one research line within the EU-FP7-JTI funded project DIAMOND; also participated as UNISA researcher/workpackage leader to EU-FP7-JTI funded projects GENIUS, D-CODE and DESIGN. Received the Best Paper Award from the Powertrain division at the AVEC '04 Symposium on Advanced Vehicle Control Technologies. In 2010, was awarded the "Energy and Mobility Prize" by the technical committee of the conference H2Roma 2010.

Coordinates international cooperation agreements with the Universities UOIT (Oshawa, Canada), Tongji (Shanghai, China) and Bourgogne-Franche Comté (Belfort, France).
