Nicolò Cavina

Nicolo' Cavina received his BS in Mechanical Engineering in 1997 at the University of Bologna, and received his PhD at the same University in 2002.

Since January 2002 he is “Ricercatore” (Assistant Professor) at the Department of Mechanical Engineering of the University of Bologna, Italy.

His scientific activity mainly concerns modeling, control and diagnosis of internal combustion engines and hybrid vehicles. The research program, which led to the publication of more than 40 scientific papers and of various industrial patents, was developed in collaboration with other research centers (CAR, Center for Automotive Research, Ohio State University, Prof. Giorgio Rizzoni; PCRL, Powertrain Control Research Laboratory, University of Wisconsin, Prof. JJ Moskwa; ETH, Zurich  Polytechnic, Prof. Lino Guzzella), and with various companies of the automotive sector (Ferrari, Magneti Marelli, Automobili Lamborghini, Maserati Corse, Ducati Corse, Piaggio, Aprilia, BMW).
