Dr. Swaroop Darbha received his B. Tech in Mechanical Engineering from the Indian Institute of Technology at Chennai in 1989 and Ph. D. in Mechanical Engineering from the University of California at Berkeley in 1994. Dr. Darbha was a post-doctoral researcher at the California PATH from 1994 to 1996. Since 1997, he has been on the faculty of mechanical engineering. He conducts research in the diagnostics of air brakes in trucks, motion planning, resource allocation and control of unmanned vehicles and on the synthesis of fixed structure controllers guaranteeing stability and performance.
