Dr. Kahne has been involved in IFAC for more than 50 years including holding the following leadership positions: Chair of IFAC Education Committee, Chair of IFAC Publications Managing Board, IFAC Vice President and Chair of the Executive Board, IFAC President (1993-1996), and is presently an IFAC Advisor. In addition he had extensive service in the IEEE including terms as Editor-in-Chief of the IEEE Transactions on Automatic Control, President of the IEEE Control Systems Society, and Vice President of the IEEE for Technical Activities.
