Dr. Francisco A. Candelas received the Computer Science Engineer and the Ph.D. degrees in the University of Alicante (Alicante-Spain) in 1996 and 2001 respectively. He is Associate Professor in the Department of Physics, Systems Engineering and Signal Theory of the University of Alicante since 1999. He also researches in the Automation, Robotics and Computer Vision Group (AUROVA) in the same department, since its foundation in 1996, where has involved in several research projects and networks supported by the Spanish Government, as well as development projects in collaboration with regional industry. His main research interests are virtual and remote laboratories, e-learning and application of new technologies in engineering education, and industrial automation.
