Welcome to the IFAC Technical Committee on Economic, Business, and Financial Systems (TC 9.1)

Dear Colleagues and Friends,

It is a great honor and privilege to serve as Chair of IFAC Technical Committee 9.1 (TC 9.1) on Economic, Business, and Financial Systems. I am excited to build upon the strong foundation established by our predecessors and work with our international community to shape the future of our field.

We are entering an era of unprecedented transformation. Artificial intelligence, intelligent automation, and cyber-physical-social systems are reshaping economies, businesses, and financial systems. These developments bring exciting opportunities and complex challenges that demand innovative, interdisciplinary, and human-centered solutions.

My vision is to make TC 9.1 a vibrant global platform where systems and control meet AI, economics, and business innovation—bridging disciplines, connecting communities, and translating research into real-world impact.

To realize this vision, I hope to advance three priorities:

  • Pioneer new research frontiers by integrating emerging AI technologies with systems and control methodologies to address economic, business, and financial challenges.
  • Strengthen global collaboration by fostering partnerships across IFAC technical committees, professional societies, academia, and industry.
  • Empower the next generation by creating opportunities for young researchers and emerging leaders to contribute, collaborate, and grow.

I warmly invite researchers, practitioners, industry professionals, and students from around the world to join TC 9.1 and bring fresh perspectives from diverse disciplines, including artificial intelligence, intelligent decision-making, cyber-physical-social systems, human-centered automation, smart cities, enterprise systems, and sustainable operations! Together, let us explore new research frontiers, strengthen collaborations across IFAC Technical Committees, and build a vibrant, inclusive community that bridges technological innovation with real-world economic and societal challenges.
