TC 9.5. Technology, Culture and International Stability (TECIS)

Unstable, non-viable and unsustainable systems, whether they are environmental, political, technological, social or economic systems, create serious challenges and place even humanity itself at risk. At IFAC we believe that scientists and technologists, especially control and automation systems researchers and practitioners, can contribute to making the world a more stable place for everyone. The TECIS vision is of a civilisation in which our technologies, systems and processes are in service of all humanity. This is called "human-machine symbiosis" and is a vision of the application of control and automation technologies and systems which benefit all life.

Welcome message of the new TC Chair:

Dear IFAC affiliates and TC 9.5 members,

With immense pride and gratitude, I step into my role as the newly elected Chair of our esteemed technical committee, appointed during the World Congress in Yokohama in July 2023.
I deeply appreciate the tireless contributions of all members and active NMOs (Austria, Kosova, Ireland, and more), making us one of IFAC's most influential and active committees.

We honor tradition while fostering innovation and growth together. As the old saying goes "Tradition is not worshipping the ashes, but the preservation of the fire"; let's keep the fire together!

As a relative newcomer, coming from the Land of Fire - Azerbaijan, I embrace the responsibility. Our vision is to excel, supported by active members, and achieve even greater heights. Together, united by knowledge and passion, we embark on this exciting journey. I am committed to serving you with unwavering dedication, but the success of preserving the fire is only upon you. Only with you, we can deliver what we have committed to science and the community.
