Scope
University education and continuing education issues in control engineering. Methodology for improving the theory, practice, and accessibility of control systems education. Control engineering laboratories, experiments, computer aided design, distance and virtual education technologies, e-learning and internet-based teaching technologies. Cooperation and technology transfer between academia and industry. Control engineering education in developing countries in contact with the IFAC TC on Developing Countries.
The Harold Chestnut Control Engineering Textbook Prize nomimation is also the Committee's prime responsibility.
Tasks
To organize annual TC meetings, to set up steering committees for the Symposia on Advances of Control Education (ACE) and sponsor these events, to sponsor or co-sponsor other IFAC events as far as education issues are concerned, to engage in paper selection procedures for these events and IFAC World Congresses.

The EDCOM chairperson sets up and chairs the IFAC Harold Chestnut Control Engineering Textbook Prize Selection Committee; this is one of the sub-committees of the IFAC Awards Committee.
