Research and Development Interests: Control system analysis and synthesis; engine powertrain system dynamics, modeling and simulation; advanced diesel engine control and engine management; advanced propulsion systems including electrification of hybrid vehicles; intelligent diagnostics and prognostics.
Received Ph.D from Shanghai Jiao Tong University in electrical engineering in 1987. Work at General Motor R&D center since 2005. Being a Technical Advisor between 1995~2005 at Cummins Engine Company. Between 1987~1995, conducted research and teaching at Shanghai Jiao Tong University, Duisburg University of Germany, Syracuse University in New York and The Ohio State University. More than 80 publications, 27 US patents and numerous International patents for automotive product applications.
