Received PhD from Johns Hopkins University in 1997, and MS from University of Southern California in 1994, both in Electrical Engineering.  Worked at Rockwell Science Center from 1997 to 1999, Visteon Corporation from 1999 to 2003 and General Motors since 2003. Have been a reviewer for Mathematical Reviews since 1991. Was a member of the IEEE Control Systems Society Conference Editorial Board. Have numerous journal and conference publications, as well as US and international patents. Have worked in the areas of singular systems, adaptive control, nonlinear system analysis and control design, and optimal control. Recent focus has been in the general areas of automotive control, including electronic stability control, driveline modeling and controls, vehicle related estimation problems, vehicle fault detection, diagnostics, and fault tolerant control, electrical and hybrid vehicle controls, and real-time embedded software development.
